42-year-old Yoko Kumada’s latest image DVD showcases her beach body

It’s not the first time that we have showcased the gravure idol Yoko Kumada, for whom age, marriage, divorce, and motherhood are no obstacle when it comes to continuing her career. But you can’t have too much of a good thing.

Now aged 42, the mother of three is releasing yet another image DVD that puts her svelte and slender body on full display.

Yoko Kumada gets better like a fine wine: sure, her skin is perhaps a bit more stretched now, but she clearly still has thousands of admirers — and it’s easy to see why.

The latest release — which comes out on July 31 — is apparently her 74th (!) DVD. Now that’s what we call a career, and quite a contrast with the flash-in-the-pan careers of most gravure idols, who are picked out of the huddle by the weekly magazines and then dropped pretty soon after, with editors keen for the Next Big Thing.

Yoko Kumada, who made her debut in 2001, proves that you can last if you have star power.

The other incredible thing about this is that people still buy DVDs in Japan in enough numbers to make these productions profitable.

Yoko’s latest DVD, which features two hours of the star, was shot on the exotic island of Miyako in Okinawa.

Besides these regular DVDs, she has recently concentrated on building a following on YouTube. She also released a splashy photo book in 2021 titled 39, inspired by her age at the time.

In the 2000s and 2010s, she released over 30 photo books. Pregnancy didn’t stop her from doing shoots: quite the opposite, she jumped on the “maternity nude” bandwagon to do a bikini shoot with her belly on proud display.
