Pink Tokyo: Japan’s adult expo photo report!
Yesterday Tokyo Kinky went along to the opening day of Pink Tokyo, Japan’s new adult expo at Differ Ariake on Tokyo Bay.
Running until Sunday March 2nd, Pink Tokyo is a chance to interact with sex toy makers and see events with Japanese porn stars and idols.
This is the first year it has been held and it was clearly a “test”, since it was smaller than we expected. We still remember the Adult Treasure Expo AET at Makuhari Messe in 2007, which was bigger, with more booths and more interesting things happening around the “fair” part of the event. At Pink Tokyo there weren’t any real sex toy demonstrations, though Saturday and Sunday feature plenty of stage events
When we were there, porn star Akiho Yoshizawa and two girls from the idol group idol pit were on stage.
Anticipating a lot of Japanese male and female visitors, around half the booths were actually overseas toy makers. It was a rare chance for regular Japanese to see, touch and buy sex toys from abroad, especially vibrators and dildos from Korea, Germany, China and the UK.
Although the likes of Tenga have been making efforts in recent years to be more inventive with vibrators and toys for girls, on the whole foreign toys still look much more exciting and varied in this area.
Japan’s major sex toys makers and retailers like Tama Toys and A-One still had their own booths, though only one was making a major debut. That was Rends, which will be released a new stylish upgrade on the A10 Cyclone in May. Watch this space for more on that very soon.

The organizers are hoping for 30,000 visitors over the three days, though much will surely depend on the stage events and the pulling power of certain JAV stars.
We hope they do it again next year but in a larger venue and with more booths. We can see displays of sex toys in stores in Tokyo so next time we hope to see exciting demonstrations and more sexy girls please!
Pink Tokyo runs until Sunday. Tickets cost ¥3,000 or ¥5,000 for couples.
