Sweet Poolside: Eat girls’ “leg hair pasta” at the School Swimwear Cafe in Akihabara
As a promo for the upcoming film Sweet Poolside, a special swimwear cafe is opening in Akihabara for four dates only.
School Swimwear Cafe will be open on June 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th only. Not surprisingly the waitresses will be in swimsuit cosplay.
As we know, Japanese swimsuits are one-piece blue affairs and a staple of any decent fantasy in Japan, so this cafe is going to be a dream come true for many.
This cafe is a promo for the film Sweet Poolside. The movie is an adaptation of a cult manga by Shuzo Oshimi about school swimmers. The plot revolves around a cute girl in the swimming club played by Yuiko Kariya. Aya’s problem is that she is very hairy on her legs. After failing by herself to get a clean shave, she asks her male peer to shave her leg hair to look better in the costume.
As the trailer below reveals, he then eats the hair! Yes, mainstream summer entertainment, this ain’t.
The menu includes jellies, rice balls and other themed food, plus the decidedly delicious-looking “hair bristle pasta”. We think the “leg hair” topping on the pasta is just seaweed, but we wouldn’t like to say for sure.
