Porno for seniors in Japan’s pink movie theaters

A new trend in Japan’s pink movie theaters is a surge in the popularity of narration from the movie’s stars. You can hear the women saying: “Now it’s going in”, “Now I will move my hips” etc.

Previously this kind of commentary was provided for the visually impaired but now it seems the target is seniors! I guess these patrons also might have trouble hearing, seeing or just remembering what is happening on the screen!

Pink movie theaters actually have popular morning showings (porn at ten a.m.!), as well as wheelchair access, naturally…

For example, the Porepore in Higashi Nakano (west Tokyo) opened in 2003 and offers tickets to patrons over sixty for 1,000 yen (about $5) — that’s less than a regular trip to the movies! Their expected August hit is Barrier Free Movie, a double bill of pink movies aimed very much at the silver market, complete with morning showings and helpful narration.

Japanese porn has had a genre featuring older stars for a while, but it was just 3% of the industry some twelve years ago. That’s now risen to nearly 20%! The female actresses are aged between fifty and seventy, and have legions of fans. Their photo books sell for 10,000 yen (over $100) each, but that doesn’t stop customers into their eighties from purchasing them!

Japan has a rapidly aging population; even a quarter of Tokyo is over sixty. Of course these folks can just tell their families they are going for their morning walk — and actually spend the time watching porn. Still, if it keeps grandpa happy and healthy, how can you complain?!
