Japanese schoolgirl book examines girl power

Man, I should totally have thought of this first!!

Brian Ashcroft and Shoko Ueda have written Japanese Schoolgirl Confidential, “a must for anyone curious about the girls that dominate Japan’s pop culture.” Well…I’m more than curious, does that count?!

It might be a bit too analytical for my tastes — it seems to be talking about cultural and fashion symbols etc — and my own re-write would definitely be v. heavy on pictures and photos!
