Japanese TV show features gravure idol with insects on nude body
It seems that during lockdown, even Japanese television producers are getting desperate for ideas.
The popular TV show Ariyoshi Hanseikai recently featured the gravure idol (gradol) Mai Arakawa (荒川真衣).
She appeared semi-nude for a sequence. Nothing new about this, which is often how gradols appear on TV in Japan.
Except that Mai Arakawa is known for her love of eating insects — something she shares with the world in her YouTube videos — and her penchant for all things creepy and crawly was showcased to a certain extent by having her pose with beetles on her buttocks and garter belts, or butterflies over her breasts and crotch.
We can see no reason for this except, why not?
It’s certainly a lot more committed than Mizuki Yamashita’s recent semi-nude photo shoot with a cat.
Born in 1994, Arakawa actually works as a nurse and does idol work on the side. She lives with some 300 reptiles and insects.
As aficionados will already know, there are Japanese porn subgenres featuring insects and even eels. And there’s fetish art and photography, where women have sex with cockroaches and snuggle with octopi.
We have also seen this combination of unusual animal and sexy gravure idol on Japanese TV before, for example once with a live octopus.
