Take a look inside Enako’s insane warehouse of costumes
Enako is Japan’s most famous cosplayer at the moment — and also most successful.
By 2019, she was making $90,000 a month, a tenfold increase from 2016. She is a spokesperson for anima and game corporations, and also earns yen from streaming. She makes very regular appearances on the covers of weekly magazines, though doesn’t charge a modeling fee for these, as we previously reported — a savvy decision that encourages magazines to keep hiring her.
Success and fame means money. It also means masses of costumes.
In Enako’s case, a whole warehouse full of costumes. She has hundreds of them — and unlike the conventional idea of cosplay, they are mostly original characters, so she isn’t subject to copyright claims for her professional/paid appearances at events or on TV.
In a recent TV appearance, as reported by Kotaku, Enako gave a tour of her costume warehouse, which is incredibly well organized with different boxes designated by photographs of the contents. The hundreds of costumes also include wigs and props. Some of the latter are rather on the bulky side.
The following clip includes a video and some behind-the-scenes footage from photo shoots. The tour inside the warehouse begins around halfway through the video.

I am most impressed by the organization! What are those clear plastic boxes called?
