DJ Soda groping incident inspires porn parody
The wheels of the Japanese adult video juggernaut trundle on, demanding fresh material, new performers, and novel inspiration.
As frequently noted on these digital pages, JAV often turns to parody to sustain itself, resulting in a kind of meta industry that is highly topical and self-aware.
The DJ Soda groping incident at a music festival last summer, in which the star was touched by several male and female members of the audience, was a big scandal, though ultimately the Korean performer has overcome the negativity and cemented her fandom in Japan with a debut photo book and cover shoot for Weekly Playboy.
And now the DJ Soda groping incident’s place in pop culture is assured, thanks to this new porn release from Ero Bana and SOD Create that shamelessly parodies it.
Starring Luna Tsukino, the protagonist’s skimpy style of clothing and hair all closely match DJ Soda’s, along with other details like her penchant for making videos of eating food. These side-by-side comparisons make it clear how unmistakeable the parody is.
Needless to say, this version of the actual groping plays out differently.
Chikan is, perhaps inevitably, a big subgenre within porn in Japan, usually involving a woman being groped but secretly enjoying the experience. (We do not advise you to test the veracity of this fantasy in real life!)
Announced earlier this week, the 100-minute AV’s title in Japanese is SNSで大炎上!? ファンにおっぱいを揉まれた金髪美人DJのセックス動画がヤバすぎて問題になっています。 月乃ルナ but the code is SUWK-014.
But was this a step too far?
The link on Fanza, the largest AV retail site, has been taken down, and Luna Tsukino has shared the news on social media that the release, originally set for April 11, has been “paused” indefinitely. SOD Create also confirmed the cancellation of the release on March 7.
No reason was given for the cancellation.
We wonder if the backlash was too much this time? But such controversy has rarely stopped the AV industry in the past (albeit producers may need to tread more carefully in these post–AV law times).
Or did DJ Soda threaten to sue? It’s easy to see why she would not be amused and parody is not as legally protected in Japan as other places, though doujinshi works by fans are tolerated.
Exploiting serious crime is not unknown: the incident in which NGT48 idol Maho Yamaguchi was assaulted by two fans was also deemed suitable fodder for an AV back in 2019 (and in a weirdly meta twist, the performer was Miko Matuda, who used to be in NMB48).
And the case of Yuka Takaoka, who stabbed her host boyfriend but became a social media sensation in 2019 for her cute looks, recently inspired a 34-minute parody porn (1HSDAM00011) that purports to show Yuka four years after the crime and starting a new romance. The real-life Takaoka was released in 2023.
