Ex-porn star Anna Kami marries porn actor Tetsuya Shido
It’s very common to meet romantic partners or even future spouses at work, something that has remained the case even in the age of dating apps.
Things work a bit differently in the porn world, though, because the nature of the work involves incredible levels of intimacy with other performers (and even the crew, to a certain extent). The ex-porn star Anna Kami has announced her marriage to adult video performer Tetsuya Shido.
The 28-year-old was active in adult video from 2020 to 2023.
Though marriages between music idols, actors, models, and other entertainers are commonplace, this is an unusual example of two Japanese porn stars marrying each other. (Another example is former jukujo AV star Arisa Matsumoto, who married fellow porn actor Pierre Ken.)
Tetsuya Shido is a 46-year-old male performer who made his debut in 2006. There are only a handful of long-term male AV performers and Shido has had one of the most successful careers. He is also a poker player.
Shido and Kami have appeared together in AV releases, it seems.
It raises a question perhaps many of us think about: Is sex for professional porn stars the same when it is in private? Does having lots of sex in their day job mean they are even hornier after work or too bored and tired of sex to bother with it? After all, you might be the greatest chef in the world but probably the last thing you want to do after a long shift is cook an elaborate meal for you and your partner. Or perhaps the nature of the job requires you to mentally compartmentalize the professional and partner so completely that you can separate a lover and a coworker.
There is a significant age gap but it seems they have been a couple for quite some time and known each other from before Kami’s entry into the industry (in fact, it seems that it was Shido who encouraged her to launch a porn career). Kami also used to live with a guy in his forties, so she has previous with older guys.
