College student kidnaps schoolgirl in his bag
Talk about having “something to declare” in your luggage…
A university student has tried to kidnap a young girl by forcing her into a travel bag and then take her in a taxi to make good his flight.
The twenty-year old Tomohiro Kodama brandished a knife at a twelve-year old girl near Hiroshima Station earlier this week. He forced her to get into travel bag — 70 x 30 x 30cm — and then flagged down a taxi to continue on to god knows where.
Luckily the taxi driver heard the girl’s voice coming from the bag after Kodama had put it in the trunk. When he stopped at a red light he asked a pedestrian to call the cops, who then arrested the boy.
Considering the girl was 150cm, according to media reports, so she would have had to lie down and kind of fold herself in half to fit in the bag. Not comfortable.
The university where Kodama was registered, though failing, was horrified. His peers didn’t seem to have much impression of Kodama.
“He seldom appeared in class. I can’t recall his face.”
was how one student described him. That’s gotta suck — but quite how kidnapping a schoolgirl in such a blatant fashion would help his chances is anyone’s guess. Well, his face is now all over the television screens so presumably he got the infamy he wanted.

What a loser. Can’t even afford a car. No wonder he got caught.
