Semi-naked shoppers take over Tokyo clothes store
Another day, another new brand opens up a store in Tokyo. This time it’s Desigual, the Spanish clothes shop, which held a “seminaked [sic] party” to celebrate the opening of its new Japanese branch in Harajuku on June 22nd.
People started to appear the night before and numbers had already exceeded the 100 limit by nine o’clock when the reception opened.
Why? Because if you came wearing a swimsuit, you could take home whatever you wanted in the store — for free!
The folks waiting outside were given gowns to wear and protect their modesty, but once inside they were semi-naked as per the spirit of the event. The first 100 who arrived could then snatch up what they wanted without paying as a reward for their flesh.
If you dream of walking into a Tokyo store and finding all the customers in their underwear, this is likely as close as it gets outside of the sex industry.
