Augmented reality device offers virtual groping, finger-sucking

As we now know, what was touted as Japan’s first adult virtual reality was so popular (and disorganized) earlier this month that it had to be closed down.

We were one of the many unlucky souls lining up outside that summer day in Akiharara, hoping to get in and see what the future of sexuality might look like.

With the glories of the internet we were able to find some of the treats we missed.

And here is another.

Called Chroma Key AR, which uses a smartphone and augmented reality (AR) technology to combine a digital image of a girl that displays on the screen with a physical adult toy. It will feel like your finger is being sucked or you are touching her breasts.

The VR headset is very similar, made from cardboard.

This being a prototype, the prepared toys were also pretty basic but they seemed to do the job. There was a small “mouth” and a pair of F-cup breasts for you to grope.

As you did so, the digital content you view changes and would parallel what you did with your hands. In other words, you could have sex with an avatar.

Apparently it took the makers just two days to develop and cost only ¥20,000 (though they spent a fair bit more on various other adult toys, doing “research”). If you were to use an Oculus or other high-end VR device, it would cost over ten times that.

This was just a prototype showcased at the event, and there are no indications it is being developed for a commercial release (it doesn’t even seem to have a website).

Even so, it’s an intriguing taste of what is surely going to explode onto the video game market in the near future.
