Eimi Matsushima releases final gravure DVD
Around this time of year, a lot of celebrities, music idols, and models release photo books and calendars. But something that might surprise people outside Japan, where streaming has become so dominant, is that gravure DVDs (or what used to known as image videos) are also still a lucrative market.
Yesterday saw the release of a new DVD by one of our favorite gradols, Eimi Matsushima. The Saitama native who is tall and busty has put out a new 105-minute DVD called special thanks to… and, as the title suggests, it is meant to be her final gravure DVD.
Though we haven’t seen anything officially saying she will retire from gravure (and she ostensibly claimed on Instagram that she will keep working), it is possible that this will be the next step after the DVD comes out. Perhaps we’ll get lucky and she’ll do a splashy final big shoot for one of the weeklies or even a photo book.
Now 31 years old, Eimi Matsushima made her debut in 2014 and quickly turned heads with her statuesque figure and F-cup breasts. In addition to numerous DVDs, she has released three photo books — but the last one was in 2018, which is a lifetime in the gravure industry.

A lot of freelance models and idols are doing Fantia. Even the models signed to agencies are often very active on YouTube, so we would say things have changed a fair bit. But the lingerie cottage industry that is the DVD market is perhaps surprising.
