Hatsune Miku yaki soba noodles for hungry cosplay otaku

Little BSD, a cosplay izakaya in Akihabara, has been offering blue-colored yaki soba at Moe1 Grand Prix, a moe character regional development event.

Although they are careful not to use the name, it’s fairly obvious from the coloring (and the cosplay costume of the staff!) that this is an attempt to be an unofficial Hatsune Miku-themed food.

Miku is the famous artificial character created for the Vocaloid singing synthesizer by Yamaha and now with a whole life of its (her?) own.

The noodles are only available in limited numbers, no doubt as the dye needed is a rare commodity, and they want to preserve a sense of the dish being an “event”… rather than the rather odd-looking muddle it probably actually is. We wonder what it tastes like?!

The 2ch response hasn’t been so forgiving:

That’s not the color of food.

It’ll give you cancer.

Do this in America!

If you’re a big enough fan of Hatsune Miku, these noodles will set you back ¥700 ($9).

The noodles are made of ground up Smurfs. Or ground up Doraemon for more Japanese flavor.
