Teacher pays elementary school student for sex, claims she was in junior high school
Teachers are of course charged with looking after the future generation. But all teachers are human. Perhaps some a little too human.
Previously a model employee, one 29-year-old maths teacher in Toyama Prefecture got himself into some trouble recently when he was particularly imprudent with his choice of lady on a deaikei (“encounters”!) dating site. Masato Terao groomed a girl that he thought was a junior high schooler into having a liaison with him in a hotel for the princely sum of ¥30,000.
They then met in a hotel in Toyama City to conduct the business transaction.
It turned out that the girl was actually still in elementary school and was “under 13 years old”!
Being a bit of a troublemaker, she found herself in hot water with her school over her attendance — or lack of it — and slowly her other extracurricular activities came to light. The trail eventually led back to our plucky maths educator and his penchant for young girls.
But when the boys in blue came calling for him, he offered a remarkable defense: “She told she was a junior high first grader!”
He faces child prostitution charges and we can also safely assume Terao won’t be teaching algebra to kids any time soon.
So, there you go, guys. Get proof of age before you proceed!
