Japanese porn star ventures to Shibuya Halloween street party, gets groped

The growing popularity of Halloween in Japan has resulted in massive street cosplay parties, particularly in areas like Shibuya in Tokyo.

That have been adverse effects, too, which is almost inevitable when so many thousands of (mostly young) people come together. Last year, in particular, seemed like a turning point when a truck was turned over in Shibuya by drunken revellers. Some used the street parties as a mere excuse to grope women or take panchira underskirt photos.

This year’s Halloween in Shibuya was crazily crowded but a little more subdued, with tighter police controls back again after a brief period of relaxation by the authorities. Nonetheless, there are still nine arrests for such crimes as groping and disorderly conduct.

We spotted what has become something of a tradition: people dressed up in Tenga-themed costumes. We find it hard to imagine another country where people would wear clothing themed around adult toys to a Halloween party.

There were also very skimpy outfits aplenty, notwithstanding the rather chilly late-October temperatures.

Amidst the thousands of people on the streets, you might be lucky enough to spot someone famous — even a porn star. Yua Mikami once donned a Starbucks costume for Halloween.

Following in her footsteps, so to speak, adult video idol Kanon Kanade (奏音かのん) decided she wanted to join in the fun on the streets of Shibuya.

She happily announced it was her first experience of a Halloween party. She went on October 26th, the closest Saturday to Halloween and just as popular a day to go as October 31st itself. She selected a suitably skimpy outfit (in the camouflage style that is very popular with women going to these parties in Japan) and seemed to go alone. Whether she was expecting to be recognized or not is hard to say, but she was apparently cornered by two men right in front of Hachiko Exit of Shibuya Station. (To be fair, Kanade is not an especially famous porn star by some standards, so the men might have just been cornered someone whom they regarded as an attractive, alluringly dressed woman.)

She was then groped by the men, making little attempt to hide what they were doing in public. Kanade did not seem to consent to this, as video captured of the incident appears to show, though Kanade did not then complain about her treatment afterwards on social media as we might expect she would.

There are some unanswered questions, then, but one’s thing clear. If the police and authorities allow the Halloween street party to keep happening, it is possible that you may just bump into a sexy Japanese porn star. Just don’t touch her without her consent, OK?
