Maki Horikita’s younger sister Nanami to release first photo book
As we’ve blogged before, there are a few cases of sexy Japanese siblings who both work in gravure or modeling.
Now those rare ranks have received a new addition: Nanami is the sister of the model and actress Maki Horikita, though the latter is now technically retired since she married and started a family.
The mononymous choice of name is probably deliberate, as she probably does not want to trade on her older sister’s fame. (There is also a porn star called Nanami Horikita, so she surely wants to avoid potential confusion!)
She is certainly carving out a different career path, at least initially. Whereas Maki started off as a child actor and then did some modeling on the way to becoming a TV and movie lead actress, Nanami is focused on modeling.
The 26-year-old is to release her first photo book (title to be announced) from Kodansha. The photo book features Nanami in lingerie and swimwear, and was shot in sunny Okinawa.
She boasts a pure, girl-next-door look that echoes her sister’s, though it is a beauty that is more radiant than sensual or sexy.
The upcoming release has attracted some attention and we suspect Nanami’s career will get a boost in the form of mainstream fashion magazine shoots and hopefully offers from gravure magazines for sexier shoots.
