New photography show in Tokyo highlights beauty of male AV performers

The photographer Sakiko Nomura has a new exhibition at Ba-Tsu Art Gallery in Harajuku showcasing the beauty of Japanese AV actors.

During the 1990s, Sakiko Nomura trained with Nobuyoshi Araki, who knows a thing or two about erotic photography.

As we know, male porn performers are in short supply in Japan and so deserve our admiration for doing what must be a tough job. Yeah, having sex with hundreds of hot women a month for money. We really sympathize.

But seriously, the photography looks great. There’s certainly a homoerotic overtone. And it gets even more fun when we consider that Nomura was born in the 1960s, so was lusting over the handsome bodies of much younger men.

Nomura photographed the six male performers over three days. The models were Ittetsu Suzuki, Yoshihiko Arima, Shota Kirano, Haruto Asai, Kohei Maeda, and Keita Asou. (Somewhat surprisingly the ubiquitous Shimiken is not included.)

The show, “Gan”, runs from November 11th to November 13th. Admission costs ¥540. There is also a photo book on sale at the venue.
