Plastic surgery, China style: model Li Ying Zhi’s dramatic face change
We all know that plastic surgery is a dirty secret in Japan and an open practice in Korea.
But what about China?
Well, here’s a demonstration of the perils of tampering too much with with what nature gives you.
Fashion model Li Ying Zhi has had some work done on her face, especially her chin, as can be witnessed by comparing her appearance in 2012 with a recent one in 2014.
This is the stunner in 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show, promoting BMW.
But these days she looks rather different (admittedly the quality of the images is also somewhat to blame for the contrast).
What’s that about putting the chin into China?
This has amused Japanese netizens no end, though they might remember the adage about throwing the first stone. After all, a surprising amount of the Japanese celebrity population is said to have gone under the surgeon’s knife in the name of beauty.

Do not fret, you’re still miles away from achieving what Wacko Jackson has achieved.
