Popular OnlyFans adult content creator Naomiii arrested for violating obscenity law
Like millions of others, you have probably seen and enjoyed the homemade porn content by Naomiii, recording her sexual exploits with a partner in various parts of Japan, and showcasing her amazing body, which probably includes the best-shaped labia we have possibly ever seen.
But publicly shared sex tapes and amateur porn are still subject to the same obscenity law in Japan that demands censorship of genitalia, and you are especially liable to attract police attention if you are successfully selling content online — and ultimately face arrest.
And so it has come to pass for Naomiii, whose real name is Naomi Itabashi — and who we now learn is older (32) than we thought. She was arrested with a 29-year-old man, Nobutoshi Kiri, for uploading uncensored AV content.
We actually saw the news a few days ago but did not initially make the connection with the name until someone else shared the news with the social media handle (@Naomiihub) identified.
Naomiii and Kiri apparently earned nearly ¥100 million in two years from videos uploaded between November 2021 and March this year, sharing previews to Naomiii’s 640,000 followers on Twitter and then selling access to the content in 4K via OnlyFans. She also uploaded videos to her Pornhub channel, generating millions of views.
The content generally featured Naomiii, who is the winner of New Face Award at the Pornhub Awards, masturbating or having sex at an outdoor or interesting location. Kiri did the filming and also often played the role of Naomiii’s partner.
The Fukuoka-based couple were forced to do the perp walk in front of the TV cameras in Asakusa, Tokyo, when they were arrested and transferred by police earlier this month — prompting investigators to joke that it’s too late to hide your identities now after everything they have posted — and the police even did that thing where they proudly display the evidence of the crime on a table for the media cameras. In this case, the “crimes” simply involved some camera equipment and a few costumes.
Naomiii was quoted in media reports: “Lots of people are doing it, so we didn’t think we would be arrested.”
The reaction from netizens and the public has been mostly sympathetic. What harm were Naomiii and her partner really doing? They were simply providing content that the public wanted to consume, and earning money for it. What good comes from their arrest? Where is the crime when her content provided joy to millions of viewers worldwide?
Considering how most LDP politicians have gotten away largely scot-free from the recent slush fund scandal, isn’t this just unfair targeting of private citizens? And are we expected to believe that the cops and prosecutors have never watched such uncensored porn before? The hypocrisy is plain to see.
It could well be that Naomiii was a victim of her own success: by attracting such a huge following and earning such a high level of income from her content, she also attracted the attention of the police (and perhaps, eventually, the tax bureau). Less well-known or lucrative performers might have a better chance of staying under the radar.
Whatever the specific reasons for her arrest, this is a worrying development for other adult content creators in Japan. Even if you are not monetizing the content, just sharing the uncensored content might be violating the law against electronic recording, display, and distribution of “obscene” material (known in Japanese as わいせつ電磁的記録記録媒体陳列).
Naomiii’s content seems to be still available online for now, but we presume it will be taken down soon. It was great while it lasted.

Time to get rid of this law already.
the bill of rights established free speech in 1689. when will the Japanese stand up and demand this right for themselves?
