Porn star Ichika Mogami asks smelly fans to take a bath
When a relatively obscure female news anchor made the mistake of tweeting last week about the need for guys to shower and look after their personal hygiene in the summer months, she was dropped by her agency and ignited a small storm of media attention that continued to unfold for days.
Her perfectly rational suggestion that men wash and take measures not to smell was met with outrage by male netizens, who accused her of discrimination. Others have leapt to her defense, especially after her agency fired her.
It’s hardly the first time that public figures have made such comments about fans and men in general.
The Japanese porn star Ichika Mogami also found herself in hot water when she once posted on Twitter/X about an event in the past that she hoped the attending fans would have a bath before coming because of many people have a “musty smell.”
She was attacked for this but ultimately, she reported earlier this week that “no one smelly” came to the event. Nonetheless, she subsequently advised fans and men in general, “do something about your armpit smell. It’s tough to hug someone with stinky armpits. (I don’t make physical contact anyway, though.)”
At such events, fans pay for the chance to meet their favorite AV stars, and sometimes are allowed even to hug them. (Eimi Fukuda has made headlines with her 24-hour meet-and-greet events.)
Mogami, who made her AV debut in 2021 as Hana Saito, did not limit her gripes to men, though, noting that a woman with smell, oily hair works at her local supermarket at night, which has caused her to lose her appetite.
Considering their profession involves the public display of their own body and very intimate interaction with others’, a JAV performer is obviously going to be particularly concerned and fussy about physical hygiene. Good for Ichika Mogami for being open about this.
On the other hand, smell fetish is a big thing and some people avidly seek out the smell of sweat, though we’d wager this tends to be guys hankering after the alluring odor of female perspiration.

every human being should shower twice a day in summer. thrice if you sweat or poop between showers. brush your teeth at least twice daily year round. and wear deodorant.
the only controversy is that some people refuse to follow these basic rules of hygiene.
