Porn star Yura Kano to retire from AV and focus on regular acting

The leading Japanese porn star Yura Kano has announced she will retire in July to focus on non-AV work like her regular acting roles.

The 25-year-old star made her debut as a nude model at the age of 18 and in the adult video industry in November 2017 with a release from S1 No.1 Style.

Over the course of her seven-year AV career, she has released dozens of productions and risen to the top ranks of a highly competitive industry.

She has also published numerous print and digital photo books.

In addition, she release a pocket pussy toy based on her vagina, the Japanese Real Hole Yura Kano Onahole, made in collaboration with adult brand TIS.

Her occasional forays into regular acting have picked up of late, including last year’s Goodbye, Bad Magazine and 2021’s I Want You, Nana-chan, Give Me a Bite (which cast her, we suspect, because she was willing to do the nude sex scenes).

She has already finished filming her final AV and anticipation from fans over this will surely be running high. As is common, it might not be her actual last release, since previous work often gets recycled into anthology releases long after a performer’s official retirement.

Post-porn, she hopes to focus on her non-AV activities. She did not specify which in her retirement announcement on social media but we assume she will do more regular acting and also continue her popular YouTube channel.
