Is prostitution good or bad? Japanese people give their opinions

In August, members of the Japanese national basketball team were sent home from the Asian Games in disgrace after being caught paying for sex in Jakarta. It propelled the ethics of paying for sex into the headlines.

Asian Boss, who previously posted interesting videos like interviews with former porn stars Emiri Okazaki and Taka Kato, here interviewed Japanese people on the streets of Tokyo to gauge their opinions on the world’s oldest profession.

The video was posted a few weeks ago but we only spotted it yesterday. Nonetheless, it’s a timeless topic (at least in our world), so we were happy to hear what some regular folk in Japan have to say.

The interviews start with the basketball team scandal (“They dishonored Japan,” declares one attractive lady with a laugh) but then become more general and personal.

We don’t want to give away a whole lot of spoilers about what the interviewees say, though there aren’t so many shocks. They cover the expected issues, such as the Yakuza, issues of legality and safety, and morality.

Some of the men are quite open about their own experiences using brothels and this is probably the most interesting part of the interviews. One account mentions a “three-girl rotation system” at a pinsaro blowjob parlor. We want to try that!

The female interviewees are relatively accepting of their partners using prostitutes. “Men have a lot of stress in their daily lives, so I think they go [to brothels to relax but not to cheat,” giggles the pretty girl who earlier criticized the basketball players. Well, quite.
