What is it like to raise a child as a porn star?
The porn star Ayumi Kuroki (黒木歩) made her debut in 2010. She hasn’t had many credits in the past few years but has not officially retired. Her most recent release is a lesbian-themed production that comes out later this month.
The performer is now 43 and very much in the MILF/jukujo category. She also directs and sings in a band, and holds private events for fans.
She gave an interview to Spa! last month in which she described what it is like to raise a child while pursuing her line, similar to a interview that married porn star and mom Marina Shiraishi also gave the publication in November.
Her daughter is already 18 because Kuroki gave birth when she was very young — just 25.
At the time, she was living in Fukuoka and working as a hostess. Shortly after giving birth, she came to Tokyo and worked for a year at a convenience store while raising her child as a single mom, but soon returned to hostessing in places like Ebisu, Ginza, Shinjuku, and Gotanda. One club where she worked got raided by police for employing underaged women and not paying taxes.
She made her adult video debut as Ren Miyamura in 2010. She was 27 and her daughter was two. Considering the practice some hostesses she worked with had for sleeping with clients for extra cash, it wasn’t a huge leap from the club world to JAV.
She suddenly found herself very popular and only able to take three days off a month. We wonder who looked after her daughter during this period.
In 2014, she switched to Ayumi Kuroki — her real name — so she could bring together all the other activities she was doing under one name.
By now, her daughter was getting older. What did she tell her daughter about her career?
“At the time, she was in elementary school. I told her I was planning to do this kind of job. I told her she probably wouldn’t be able to understand yet but this is how I am going to live. Every year in April, when my daughter went up a grade, I always told her the same thing.”
She also told her daughter’s grade teacher. “If it later came out at school, I thought it would be tougher on my daughter if I didn’t say first.”
Now her daughter helps her out with social media and at her events. When her daughter gets nasty comments on social media about Kuroki’s parenting and work, the daughter engages with such trolls and critics by replying to them.
Kuroki has found herself over the years questioning what motherhood is. “My own mother ran a club. She was totally addicted to men. I always lived with my grandmother and barely remember ever talking with my mother.” She never tells her daughter that she is doing the work she does for her. “I was told that by my mom and I remember how much I hated being told it.”
Kuroki says she has never thought that she is doing her job for the sake of her daughter.
“Never. But I want her to look at me and see someone who is doing the things they want to do.”

Give her credit she is a tough, strong independent woman. Not the choice I would want for my dauchter but she deserves respect
I am sure a few guys will disrespect her but they would be first in line to bone her and also the most upset she has no interest in them
Actually I have met AV director Tameike Goro and in addition to being very interesting he is a dedicated parent
The daughter is doomed. If mom really cared, she would have put her up for adoption.
I think being left for adoption can be anything but an act of consideration from the parents – except when it’s a matter of life or death.
