Rena Momozono shares her past as a secret porn star

In a recent interview on a late-night TV Tokyo show, adult video actress Rena Momozono (桃園怜奈) shared some of her early experiences of trying to balance a secret porn career with a “normal” life.

The 25-year-old I-cup beauty from Hyogo made her debut anonymously in the industry in 2015 while a student at a prestigious college. In the space of just a month she was identified. She released only three titles with Fitch before retiring in 2016.

She originally wanted to become a gravure idol and went to meet an agency in Tokyo, only to be told that she could only do AV. The 19-year-old then figured that she wouldn’t get found out if she did just three videos.

She didn’t factor in the skill and almost manic obsession of porn-loving netizens, who devote serious time to identifying porn stars. Soon her pre-debut private photos were on social media and everyone at her university knew what she had done.

But despite all the pressure and judgment of her peers, she stayed at college and graduated. She then got a job at a well-known corporation in the Kansai region, only to find her past still haunting her. After a few weeks, she was called into the office of the head of HR, who confronted her with the rumor that she was once a porn star.

She then had to deal with constant pestering from male coworkers asking her out on a date. Her love life consisted of one-night stands until she got a boyfriend.

But then after around two years as an office lady, she quit and made a sudden, surprising return to the JAV industry in September 2020. She has since continued to release regular videos as well as two photo books. Not bad for someone who almost left the industry for good.
