Survey asks: What is Japan’s favorite kind of breasts?
What kind of female bust do you like? It’s a question we often ponder in various ways for far too long each day.
Apparently, we’re not alone and a lingerie company in Osaka even went so far as to do an online survey to find out the answer.
In mid-September, Maruko asked 800 people, even spread across their twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties, and half men and half women.
Despite what gravure idols and adult video might have you believe, it’s not as simple as guys always want huge breasts (in fact, we’re written before about how trends show that Japanese men like smaller breasts, though one summary of the results, the men gave their preferred breasts type as follows:
1. Beautifully shaped (64%)
2. Supple (42%)
3. Round like a rice bowl (27.3&)
4. Big (26.8%)
5. Small (7.3%)
6. Other (3.5%)
The responses of women came out the same in terms of the ranking, though with different numbers (notably the responses for “big” are far fewer than with the male responses).
1. Beautifully shaped (74.8%)
2. Supple (46.3%)
3. Round like a rice bowl (32.3%)
4. Big (14.5%)
5. Small (3.3%)
6. Other (2%)
Of course, “beautifully shaped” is pretty subjective, but we’re relieved that the nation isn’t simple opting for size above everything else.
And what about men’s favorite color for female lingerie? Surprisingly, it’s not black or red.
1. White (48.3%)
2. Black (39.3%)
3. Pink (32%)
4. Sky blue (23.3%)
5. Blue (14%)
6. Red (12%)
7. Raspberry (10.3%)
8. Gray (6.3%)
9. Beige (5.8%)

Women answered the same question somewhat differently, preffering the seductive black or the cute pink.

Breasts don’t really do it for me. I’m fine with any size or shape or what have you. What I’m really interested in is her hips.
