You can judge how well you have hit it off with a new partner as well as a lot about his or her character by how intimate you get on your first date.
According to a dubious sex survey, 14.3% of Japanese women "expect" a first date to end with a sleep-over and sex.
Of course, "expect" is not "want", so women are probably factoring in pressure from the man, his expectations, and also the influence of booze.
The survey by My Navi is hardly represents the broadest of research: it asked just 300 women over June and July through an online survey. And of course, while 14.3% may say a ...
Japanese women (and porn stars) reveal their pubic hair shaving habits
July 27, 2015
/ Megumi
We were pointed by Twitter user @Genzolico to this survey of Japanese women's "underhair" habits.
Featuring some lovely revealing shots of JAV porn star Iori Kogawa, we feasted our greedy eyes on the pages, taken from Weekly Playboy magazine. The article promises to reveal the "secrets" of Japanese idols, AV stars and amateurs! (The survey itself is with amateurs, though.)
It's not so recent -- dating back to 2013, though we doubt habits have changed that much.
A hundred women aged 16 to 29 were asked what they did with their hair downstairs.
Some 36% trimmed or cut their bush 2-3 times ...
40% of Japanese singles do not want romantic partner
June 26, 2015
/ Tadashi Anahori
Around 40% of Japanese singles do not want romantic partner. That's according to a dubious government survey, published this week and picked up by the media.
It refers to single Japanese people in their twenties and thirties.
Apparently they find relationships "bothersome".
The survey, conducted by the Cabinet Office on the Internet and by mail between last December and January, covered 7,000 people aged 20 to 39. Valid responses were received from 37.8 percent.
Of the valid respondents, 37.6 percent said they don’t want a romantic partner, while 60.8 percent voiced ...
It’s official: Japanese girls’ breasts are getting larger, says bra maker
June 25, 2015
/ Megumi
Triumph, Japan's wackiest bra brand, has released its 15th Lingerie White Paper -- a report on the underwear trends of Japanese women. Triumph has been doing this survey since 2000 and releases it to the press in May every year.
And this year's report contains some good news for any who have bemoaned the chopping-board poverty of Japanese girls' breasts.
Based on its own product sales from 2014, it has organized the results per Japanese women's breast size:
A cup – 5.3%
B cup – 20.5%
C cup – 26.3%
D cup – 24.1%
E cup – 16.2%
F cup – 6%
In 2000, when the ...
Survey finds the prefecture in Japan where women most likely to have one-night stands
May 18, 2015
/ Tadashi Anahori
A survey with 3,000 Japanese women about one-night stands reveals some nice findings, though we always knew that Japanese girls are far from innocent.
Asking women with an average age of 42 (experience!), this is a pretty balanced poll by News Post Seven.
On average, 39% of women admitted to one-night stands.
And the "sluttiest" prefecture in Japan?
That accolade goes to Miyazaki in Kyushu, since 61.5% of the woman from there said they had had a one-night stand.
Up in the chilly north of Aomori, 60% admitted to one-night stands. With Fukushima at third and Kumamoto and Oita ...
1 in 4 Japanese women have experience working as hostess
May 5, 2015
/ Tadashi Anahori
According to an article on Nikkan Gendai, a quarter of Japanese girls have experience working in what is euphemistically known as mizu-shobai. This can apply to full-on hostesses but also just girls working in "snack" bars, girls' bars, and so on.
The article quotes a survey of 3,563 women around Japan asking if they have experience working at night at a kyabakura (cabaret, a type of hostess club) or snack bar.
23% answered yes.
If we add in how many have experience working in prostitution or in AV, the numbers grow bigger still.
According to one specialist writer, then ...
Weekly Playboy Japan asks 100 Japanese girls about their fetishes and perversions
February 12, 2015
/ Tadashi Anahori
We've just discovered this great spread that Weekly Playboy (Japan) magazine ran in October 2013.
It features the lovely naked talents of Mana Sakura and her body. Mana Sakura, as readers of this blog will surely know, is one of Japan's top porn stars.
She and her curvy flesh are lusciously photographed to illustrate a survey done on sex habits.
As we love these kinds of sex surveys -- and love pictures of naked Japanese girls -- we couldn't resist, despite it being a bit old now.
Indulge us!
Weekly Playboy asked 100 amateur (i.e. not professional porn stars) Japanese girls ...
Sexless Japan? Half of Japanese married couples not having sex
February 10, 2015
/ Tadashi Anahori
It seems rarely a week goes by without another survey appearing in the media with worrying stats confirming that Japan is "sexless".
Sekkusu-banare, the media dubs it -- literally "drifting away from sex".
Well, a survey carried by the Japan Family Planning Association has some shocking results: around half of Japanese married couples are "sexless."
Apparently we shouldn't be worried about the "herbivore men" (soushoku danshi) so much as the "fasting men" (zesshoku danshi).
The survey, the seventh by the Association since 2002, was carried out last September with 3,000 men and women ...
Another day, another media article about sexlessness in Japan.
This time it was an article by Jiji that got republished on The Japan Times.
It focuses on a survey from last September by the Japan Family Planning Association about married couples.
It found that 49.3% of people said they had had no sex in the past month.
"There was a disparity in the sexes," the article claims, though in fact the numbers are almost the same: 48.3% for men were sexless, 50.1% of women. So around half of people don't have sex! Of course, it's natural that married couples have sex less frequently ...
Ignition, a newish English-language online magazine about Japan, has published an article on "Japan: The Sexless Nation".
The article is actually a translation of a piece that appeared in a Japanese newspaper, by Kaku Sechiyama, a professor at University of Tokyo.
It is provocative, to say the least:
Japan has the lowest sexual frequency in the world, and it is the only country where the percentage of people who are not happy with their sex life is higher than that of those who are.
In 2005, out of people in 41 countries, Japan ranked lowest -- with an average of sex just 45 ...
