Tenga chocolates for Valentine’s Day 2023: Cacao, lemon, strawberry
It’s become one of the staple elements of the Valentine’s Day season in Japan.
While the department store tills ring cheerfully with the sound of yen being exchanged for boxes of chocolates in all shapes and sizes, perhaps especially so in Japan where there is a somewhat redundant custom of giving chocolates not just to your partner but also all your coworkers, we are always pleased to see what Tenga does this year.
We can’t remember when they started doing it but we love the idea that the country’s most successful adult brand, which is best known for its male masturbation toys, produces chocolates in the shape of its main bestseller, the Tenga Cup.
We guess the design concept is: pop a sweet Tenga Cup in your mouth and then pop yourself inside a sweet Tenga Cup.
So if you’re a lady who wants to reward her man, and if he’s a guy who likes using a Tenga Cup (which, frankly, is pretty much everyone), these Tenga chocolates are fun and cheeky gifts.
Tenga usually comes up with new ones each year and the older ones are not normally available after the season ends.
Right now, there are three new types of Tenga chocolate, each coming in packaging shaped like a Tenga Cup and with the individual chocolates also shaped like a mini Tenga Cup.
The Crispy Hi-Cacao one offers a darker and bitter taste that grownups will love.
The Strawberry Granules type is a sophisticated version on what is often the kids’ favorite flavor, here featuring premier Tochiotome strawberries.
If you want a zingy flavor, opt for the Crispy Lemon variety, which is made with real Sicilian lemon.
Our friends at Kanojo Toys, as you’d expect from their reliable team, always stock the most recent Tenga chocolates, if you fancy getting a truly unique Valentine’s gift this year!
