Zero One Belt, a voice recognition condom dispenser belt by Okamoto

Okamoto have done it again.

After teaching us that even humping dinosaurs want protection, the condom maker’s latest fun marketing gimmick is a spring-loaded condom-dispenser belt. Yes, you did read that right.

The Zero One Belt uses voice recognition through a smartwatch-style wrist device to eject a 0.01 Zero One ultra-thin Okamoto condom (the world’s thinnest condom). Say “Zero One” into the watch to command the belt. The belt then opens out and shoots the condom up into the air so you can catch it with a snazzy hand movement, showing your lover that you mean business.

Never be caught out by that missing condom just when you need it, or have to go searching for that sheath in the bottom of that draw while your potential lover lies prostrate and bored, the fiery mood quickly dying…

Of course, you do then have to take off the belt, which may dampen the mood somewhat.

Watch the Okamoto team of researchers test their prototype with a nerdy young man.

They also suggest different belt designs so you can customize.

Sadly, this is not a real product (…yet), but perhaps one day you may see youngsters in Tokyo wearing these belts so they are always carrying just in case they get lucky.

I was really expecting the video to be far more ‘anime’. Lots of lens-flare sounds and still-shots with those flashy backgrounds; an over the top voice and a victory pose with big grin and thumbs up when he grabs the condom. You know, all Japanese like.
