37-year-old Rei Toda marks 20 years of gravure
We love a good comeback story at Tokyo Kinky. Just a few days ago, we posted ravishing images of Rina Koike’s first photo book in eight years and which marks the veteran idol’s 30th birthday.
Today, it’s the turn of Rei Toda, who has made a gravure comeback with a sensual shoot for the June 17 issue of Weekly Playboy and an accompanying digital photo book.
Now aged 37, Rei Toda is in the heartland of jukujo territory, but hasn’t let herself go at all. She still has a slender and alluring body, and a knowing face. She’s definitely seen some action over the years.
We love how hot she looks in leopard-print lingerie.
The shoot marks 20 years since Rei Toda made her gravure debut.
Back in 2015, she went nude in a photo shoot — though sadly stopped short of showing her breasts. Might that be a line she’s willing to cross before she turns 40?

Is “gravure” a mispronunciation of glamour? Or what does it mean? It’s definitely not English.

It is used in English but it means a slightly old technical process. Gravure is an image produced from etching a plate through an intaglio process and producing a print from it. Photogravure is the photographic version of this process: an image produced from a photographic negative transferred to a metal plate and etched in.
In Japanese, the word is pronounced gurabia and refers more generally to color printing of photos, and came to denote glossy photographic sections or whole magazines, almost always with glamor models.
