Winners of Gravure Japan Awards 2024 announced
Weekly Playboy has announced the top gravure idols of the year.
The winners of the Gravure Japan Award were Hina Kikuchi and Cocoro Toyoshima (joint winners of Grand Prize).
Leyla Ikeda and Ina Enohara were the joint winners of Best Newcomer.
No one who has followed the gravure scene in 2024 will be so surprised by these winners, especially the Grand Prize winners. All have been a dominant presence in gravure magazines this year.
Best Work was awarded to Yuka Iguchi, the voice actress in her late thirties who has made a big splash in gravure this year.
Best Photo Book went to former HKT48 member Miku Tanaka, who released seven digital photo books this year and a print one in September.
Best Comeback and the Weekly Playboy Award were both given to Miwako Kakei, whose triumphant return to gravure we also covered.
The Special Award went to Yuno Ohara.
Weekly Playboy Plus Award was given to model and influencer Natsuki Abe. The Influencer Award was jointly awarded to syujinkou (Saki Kanamaru) and the TikToker Tinapupu. The Gravure Japan Original Work Award went to voice actress Kanna Kan.
Do you agree with the winners? Who else would you have liked to see on the list?
The winners were selected based on the digital content released by Weekly Playboy from November 2023 to October 2024 in terms of sales, quality, popularity, and so on.
Rival gravure publication Weekly Friday also recently held its own contest for the top idol with public voting, as previously reported. The Grademy Award voting is now closed and the results will be announced in mid-January.

To be honest, she was the main name on the list whose inclusion surprised us. We didn’t realize she had become so popular.
