Nana Asakawa returns to gravure with nude shoot

Gravure idols famously come and go. Those who seemed at the top of their game with regular cover shoots in the weeklies might fall out of favor in a couple of months and be gone from our lives. The most successful idols learn that they need to branch out into acting and TV work, and not rely on the precarious gigs doing shoots for magazines and releasing digital photo books in a crowded market.

Nana Asakawa was huge at the end of the 2010s and likewise began to take high-profile acting jobs, including sex scenes in the Haram Marriage TV adaptation and We’re Too Bad at Romance.

Those appearances were great but were non-nude.

Fortunately, Nana has heard our clamors for more and has answered with what we think is her first nude shoot.

It’s not quite up there with the likes of Tsubasa Hazuki or Kyouka, but this is a sensual shoot with a bathing theme. Her butt looks very cute.

The 23-year-old Nana Asakawa is releasing her fourth photo book, “Growth,” and has promoted it with spreads in issues of Weekly Playboy this month and last. These mark her first gravure shoots in three years and show a more mature side to her beauty. The photo book is commemorating 10 years since she started in the idol industry.
