Weekly Playboy and three top gravure idols team up for T-shirt series

Weekly Playboy has collaborated with three of the hottest gravure idols of the moment for a lineup of T-shirts produced by sneaker brand KIKS TYO.

The resulting photo shoots are a kind of face-off between the trio. Who looks the best with sneakers hanging from their body?

Here’s delightful Cocoro Toyoshima, available in pink or blue sneaker versions.

And here’s comely Ina Enohara.

And finally, this is the lovely Yuzuha Hongo.

If you wanted to get your chance on the Cocoro Toyoshima T-shirts (available in white or black and various sizes), you’re probably out of luck. Reservations closed on September 1.

The sold-out T-shirts (priced over ¥6,000) were offered with the chance to win autographed photographs.

Ina Enohara’s will be sold at the end of September, started from September 20. Yuzuha Hongo’s T-shirt is available from October 18 to October 27.

They were all featured in a Weekly Playboy issue in late August.

It goes us thinking, though, why aren’t there more high-quality gravure-themed clothing items out there? Who wouldn’t a gradol in a bikini or underwear on their T-shirt?

Though not part of the Weekly Playboy collaboration (as far as we can tell), KIKS TYO does offer other gravure-themed apparel, such as T-shirts featuring the model Nanako Kurosaki. Other past models for these “KIKS Girls Tees” include Runa Toyoda, Risa Yukihira, and Sayaka Tomaru.

It seems that KIKS TYO and Playboy have done this partnership before. Previous T-shirt models include Miku Kuwajima T-shirt, Sayaka Nitori (whose second photo book saw her go nude), and Yuzuha Saeki last year (pictured below).

A bit of searching reveals that these items resell for massively inflated prices on the secondary market online, so it seems that people buy them up during the limited period of sale and then resell them to milk fans out of their yen.
